In this follow up study, we showed that hsCRP was significantly reduced in a small group of patients in only seven days. The decrease in hsCRP, and therefore decrease in systemic inflammation, was observed in patients who adhered to the full LIFE diet and in patients who ate their regular routine diet plus one 32 oz LIFE smoothie per day.
This study represents the fastest diet induced reduction in CRP published to date. It also demonstrates the strong absorptive capacity of the liquefied vegetables in the LIFE smoothie. Overall, this study suggests that the beta-carotene rich LIFE diet and/or LIFE smoothie may offer fast, effective, and practical ways to reduce the risk of chronic diseases and improve overall health.
